Hi how many HQ statesman where made. I heard that not alot where made as they went to order only. If only a few thousand were made they would have to be getting pretty low in numbers as there are alot of HQ Statesman front ends for sale.

Will they ever gain value in the future. Unique Cars values them alot higer then you see them going for on the market.

Hi Matty.

I dont have the total number of HQ Statesmans built, but Im sure it would be more than a few thousand. Remember nearly 460,000 HQs were sold & even if only 3% were Statesmans that would be almost 14,000 cars, but thats only an educated guess.

Value?
i think all the HQ - WB statesmans are undervalued , currently.

Wasn't the HQ statesman voted the worst car of that year by wheels magazine at the time??

I reckon a HQ 350 Statesman in original unmolested condition, particularly a bucket seat example in a nice colour combo that is registered and going (ie basically a good car) would have to be worth $20k to the right buyer. A 308 Deville in similar spec $1

Hi guys in the Holden id guide (the factory one) under the HQ Statesman heading it states that 15279 were produced. So probably not a bad guess Dr.T if the figures are correct. If only we had the breakdowns for all the other models and combos.
