Hi All,
Does anyone know what could be causing this? The car has about 215k on the clock, automatic and is on duel fuel. The oil light comes on when the engine has warmed up (1/3 on the temp gauge) and if you bring the revs up to 1000rpm with the pedal it disappears. It also disappears when putting it into neutral when at the lights, as the revs rise obviously. It had 20W50 oil in it and I have just dropped this and put in 25W60. Not as bad now but still comes on.
Could it be a faulty or blocked oil pressure switch? I noticed that the radiator cap had slight oil emulsification under it but my brother has mentioned that this has been the case for about the last 30000km. It doesnt run rough and there is no water in the oil.
any help much appreciated! thanks Rhys

I had this problem, and ended up gettign shot of the vehicle. It was not the pressure switch, pressure relief valve or pump (all of which I changed).
There were two options remaining. One was that the engine was on its last legs and wasnt holding pre |

Hi Guys.
This is a common problem if the oil is not changed regularly or 'supermarket' type oil is used.
The oil pick-up gauze becomes blocked, restricting the flow to the pump. You have to drop the K-member & remove the sump & pick-up & clean it ou |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
