What a rabble politics has decended into. The original people who set up our system of goverment at Federation must be turning in their graves. Being a member of the house of "representatives" seems to mean nothing. All they seem to represent nowadays is the party they belong to. Bugger the elecorate they actually represent.

Heres a thought....
How about everyone here vote for the candidate in their own seat who is not the sitting member, regardless of whether they are Liberal or Labor. Aim being to make your seat a swinging seat. And then see if things happen. I live in a safe Labor seat, and it wouldn't matter if they wheeled out a terrorist goat on drugs - they'd still get voted in by a safe majority. If only 10% of those who voted Labor voted Liberal, and then the seat would be marginal and something would happen.

Amen Brother.

Its the swinging sits that get funding these days and usually during the rounds of election promises.

Its difficult to relate to any of the leaders really. It would be nice to have a leader with a bit of flair and charisma. Someone the younger generation can aspire to. Honestly there a people in the flats where i live that would put on a better image on T

Hi RigPig.

Peter Costello & his brother are at opposite poles in terms of ideology.

To quote "Most people have no idea the amount of Films and art and books that are banned in this country and yet allowed everywhere else."

Hey Dr Terry, no need for a flak jacket, I'm 36 and have a good job making over $150,000 a year on an offshore rig.

I wont be voting for the extreme right Christian Liberals Johnny and Costello.
Im more interested in social issues and our way of life
