hiya all

how can i tell if the manual steering box on my HQ ute is in good nick?
and what can i do to prolong its life, change oil, adjust setscrew, any secret or tips please?
and how do i i.d. the box ratio? i just took a manual HZ ute for a spin and even with a small sports steering wheel, the steering was noticeably lighter

Hi I had a manual steering box for awhile until I put 245/50/14 tyres on. Then it really got heavy. My mate who was selling his hz said I could have his power steer if I took it off and replaced it with my manual one.

So I did that.

the steering was lighter in the HZ because it has the longer steering arms than the HQ making it easier to turn
