Hi all, in the past week i have come across two red sixes which have no cast marks where engine capacity usually is, 202, 186 etc. Completely blank. Engine no on both starts with a H followed by 5 or 6 numbers. The part no on the head of one starts with 742, that ones in a HT the other i didn't catch but was in a HR. Any one know these motors origins and more importantly what is their capacity?

Also, why do i need to re enter all my details etc when i don't visit this site for more than a few weeks? Security? Bit of a pain being anonymous... thanks

Common EH 149 engines. Made close to two hundred thousand of them.

They had the blank blocks for the common EH 149, and so you could tell which block was a common EH 179 they put a HP on the side of the block. Other than the bore size and the HP letters, the engines were identical

161s also had no casting on the side until part way through HK. But they had different engine number prefix.
