Can anyone tell me where and if the Body Numbers are marked on HJ and HX Panelvan and Sedan Shells. I am aware that the HZ's had the body number stamped on the left hand lower side in behind the front guard but I do not know whether HJ or HX had it stamped or if so where. I want to try and check the body on two of my cars is the original one.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You won't be able to tell that from the firewall number, as it means little and is not recorded anywhere on the ID plates. Plus HX and HZ van bodies were only constructed in Adelaide and Acacia but the vans themselves were assembled in all 4 plants, so th

I dont understand. I thought the Body Number and the Plant of Manufacture (Noted on ID plates) would correspond with the number actually stamped on the body. This seems to be the case with another of my Vans. I have heard the body number for HJs is on the

Again, the number on the body is never the same as any other number on the ID plates. The only numbers that match on HX and HZ van are:

Chassis number, on the RH rail will match the number on the ADR plate eg BHX12345S;

Body number on the BODY plate
