what do the numbers like 4/71 or 6/71 mean when referring to superchargers?

the first number is the number of cylinders the second number i believe is the engine cylinder size

thanks but still confused.So 6/71 means 6 cylinder 71??? CC? MM? Cu in?

Hi johnperth.

For some reason with these engines they quoted the individual cylinder size of 71 cubic inches.

This means that the actual engine sizes would be 4 cyl, 4 x 71 = 284 ci & the 6 cyl was 6 x 71 = 426 ci.
