Wondering how to tell if a red 202(or any red six) i have is high or low compression,is it easy to find an lc red motor. How does it actually get lowered from the factory. Also are ther cheap ways of lowering the compression ratio yourself. Thanks.

The compression was altered by using different pistons. By using a bigger dish in the top or having a lower pin height the compression can be lowered. The compression ratio is the swept volume compared to the chamber volume so if the swept volume stays th Edited by user Monday, 26 November 2007 3:40:04 PM(UTC)

You only have to be in front at the end of the race. |

Thanks JBM. Thinking of turbos. Can fabricate/weld things OK but need help with mechanical side of things every now and then. Trying to get ideas for a carby and turbo set up on a red six. Had an article from the mid seventies on a guy who developed a kit

Yella Terra do a new cast 12 port head in Turbo version with larger chambers to lower compression. I have one on my supercharged 202. The 12 port would be ideal for fuel injection also. |
