I have just bought a HQ coupe and have several questions that I hope I can find answers for:
The car has only one id plate, which is the large one with the build date,ADRs and a number DHQ93960M.The other large plate with the engine, trans, paint, etc is missing as is the smaller thin plate. What does the smaller plate have stamped on it?Is it the VIN?If so,what is the number stamped on the plate that is still on the car?
Can I get details of what the car was built as just from the number that I still have?
The car seems to be a LS coupe which was once painted the metallic pink colour. What is this colour called?
Is the boot lid the same as for a sedan?
Are the rear wheel arch moulds the same as a sedan?
What Monaro bits are impossible/hard to get just in case anything is missing?

The VIN is on the skinny plate and wont be able to be deciphed without the Body Plate unless you have the GM-H records and can find the chassis number. For an Monaro LS it would start with 8P37?D.... The ADR plate will only have the Chassis No, however I

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

The pink colour is Orchid Metallic

From memory... The bootlid is the same, the rear wheel arch trims are different and the number on the plate you have should match the chassis (located on the driver side front).

All coupe part (e.g. chrome trims, s

yeah, your lucky if you have the stainless trim that goes aroud the windows. its all different to the sedan, and is dear/hardish to find.

but orchard metallic is nice.. especially if this LS had a white interior. :)

Thanks heaps for all replies, its starting to make a bit more sense now.The number on the plate matches the number stamped into the rail near the steering box,so that seems all good.It has a 253 and a four speed in it and it all looks fairly original and c

Anthony, as JBM says, look on the back of the ADR plate if it has been removed before and see if it has 3 x numbers there. If it does let me know what they are and ill see if I can find more out about your car for you. Might even be able to find out the o
