hi all, xf fuel injected six, i let it nearly run out of petrol I think? duel fuel, hard to start on gas? but runs well on it? now switched to gas? then put more petrol in? but will not run on petrol now? and petrol gauge shows ful tank of petrol, when I only put $20 in it? thoughts? 1.crap in fuel line? 2.wasnt out of petrol, and pump buggered? 3. have no idea past the first 2..? your experienced input, graciously excepted, and thanked already. cheers

Full Tank on the gauge? is it a plastic tanked sedan? My first guess would be that the fuel sender and therefor the pump no longer have a good ground connection to the car body.

HHHmmm??? vely interlesting J5.0!! Have been told this model has 2 elect pumps? and 1 is not vorking?? so will look for fuse?? first? if unable to find fuse, will try to locate pump>>pumps, then try to ascertain whether cables ok? Have tried to g |

FB is it a sedan or a wagon? The sedans had a plastic tank with only one pump (in tank) this is why i was asking about earths. It's easy to get at as there is a 6 inch round inspection plate in the boot floor held in by 3 screws.

hey thanks J5.0 Got it running again today, had to remake the air intake! exhaust pipe, hundred mile an hour tape? now found out, when they backfire through the air box, they bugger the little flap, and then they dont run right? So, i physically pushe |

FB the Flap that you mention is the vane air flow meter or VAF. The computer calculates how much fuel you engine needs by the position of the flap Vs engine revs among other things.
If it no longer moves freely it becomes an obstruction to the air f |

hey thanks J5.0 yep got one coming tomoro,? truble is,, it is not set up for gas? so I have to take rubber gas hose off, and not connect it back. can turn of gas tap, hopefully it is this prob? and at least I will have transport, and maybe later, get g |
