Hi all,
The heater on my WB stato stays on regardless of where the setting of the dash control is. It's a vacuum operated unit by the looks of it, now what is more likely, the dash unit has failed or the unit on the heater hose in the engine bay has stuck open??

Hi Peter .
Either is possible but they are easy to check.
The water valve is failsafe. What I mean buy that is, if there is no vacuum, then the water will flow. It needs the vacuum applied to close. So, with the motor running & the heater set to col |

Tested it last night, plenty of vacuum through the line when heater off, no vacuum when heater switch on, so must be the valve I guess. Thanks again Doc.

Hi Peter.
You've found the fault.
You don't need to buy the original (read expensive) valve, you can use the VN/VS V8 one. They are less than half the price.

I'm with Dr Terry on this one. I had exactly the same problem on my WB and replaced it with the VN-VS V8 one and it works perfect. I tried about 4 second hand valves (as I wanted to keep it looking original) and all of them leaked as the inte
