hey just bought a uc-sl torana and im wanting to do a engine swap but a, unsure what engine i should do it with im thinking of a ecotec v6 from a vt commodore but unsure of how much work it will be if anyone has some other engines or could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few places that sell kits for V6 conversions into Toranas including Castlemaine Rod Shop (CRS) or another mob in Moree called Gardners. If you want another carby engine a 253/308 will bolt straight in but will need engineering as UCs didnt hav

Hi James

Any TH700 (not 4L60-E) will work behind a carburettored engine. All you need is something to switch the lock-up converter if you wish to make use of it. You can buy an aftermarket controller or make one yourself. You just need a tacho operated

If you are looking to go EFI I'd use a VN-VSIII 5.0L. Basically a bolt in with only minor mods. And stick a TH350 or M21 behind it meaning no tunnel mods either. This engine will use all standard Torana parts like radiator, sump, engine mounts, radiator h
