Seasons Greetings to all,
I have been given a crank that I am told is out of an XU1 motor ?
We've worked out that it is steel, but is there any thing to look for ?

It needs a good clean up as it is a bit surface rusted.

If it's a forged red crank it will be a 149 - 161 - 179 - 196 crank from any pre 1967 engine or 2600S or 186S or LC XU-1.

I can't remember. It's been 15 years since I pulled a very early red apart. I normally either throw them away or pass them on to people doing original restos as for performance versions of the Holden 6 I will always use a 202.
