Just acquired a HJ prem wagon, L31 M41 GU4. Air, steer, pwr windows, GTS dash. Car is factory column shift, the GTS instruments are behind a silvery grey fascia, the cluster of four gauges have yellow needles, tacho and 220km/h speedo have squared off zero numerals with white needles. How can you tell if the car was factory GTS dash equipped? Looks bodgy with the mismatched needles, but the column auto as well? I've not seen a column auto GTS dash before. Doesn't really matter anyway as the car will be dismantled. Just curious. Car is fitted now with 3.08 LSD, is that the GU4 code?

Anyone?

Also, how do I get the power end gate down if the motor seemingly doesn't work? Pull the regulator off the window runner so I can remove the tailgate?

Column shift with TH400 is common in HJ. Also seen plenty in HQ 350 Statesman and i've only seen 2 x LS350 HQ's in the flesh and one of them was a column shift too.
Column shift with GTS dsh is most common afaik on BO6 pack HJ-HZ. My BO6 Overlander had i

Yes the HJ Prem should have a woodgrain fascia, but have seen LS with factory silver, so not 100% that not genuine. Yellow needles just might mean that something has broken and replaced with HZ.

Column shift is right, should be special facia though, wit

GU4 is 3.08 in the HJ, the HJ GTS dash is silver with white needles and has one digit less in the odometer than the HX/Z speedos(due to the conversion imperial to metric) My LS came with that GTS dash option. It sounded like a well optioned up wagon.

Hi Absinth.

What model series are you refering to here, this list may be true for HZ & some HX, but in HJ there is only one facia listed in the parts book for the GTS instruments. This is the silver one.

The problem with so many cars out there, is t

Hi Dr Terry, I think you better have another look at your HJ parts manual. Page 166, there are 8 different part numbers for the GTS style type 4 dash facia. Part No. 9932436 is the silver fascia and only listed for Q models. The others are black and woodg

Hi Absinth.

My HJ parts manual does actually list 2 facias. This manual is dated Oct 74 & has part number M37529, so it is the early one, printed at the release date of the HJ.

It lists 9932436 for all manual or autos with floor shift & 9932437 for

Ok, mine is effective July 77 M37965 and supercedes M37529. The HJ and HX Sandmans came with a silver dash the same as GTS.
