Hi guys just wanting to know what is the best and easiest way to tell a 3 speed and a 4 speed box apart, i have an LJ torana speedway car i am wrecking and just want to know what the box is just to know if it is worth keeping or not. Oh forgot to add it is not drivable so there goes that method

Assuming you mean aussie 4spd amd all synchro 3 speed:
3 and 4 speed share the same main case, side cover and input shaft cover but differ in the extension housing (in terms of viewing from the outside).
3 speed has 2 selectors on the side cover - front
