I believe the updated 179kW motor (sequential injection, roller rockers, knock sensor etc) only came into the VS III in about March 1999. The easy way to tell from looking at the motor is that theyve got more rounded engine covers than the earlier version

I dont think so, i think it came out at the start of the VSIII utes and statesmans, because by march 1999 they wouldve been getting ready for the LS1s.

Hi Guys.

The release date for the sequential V8s in VS III is Nov 98.

I have a regular customer at work who has 2 VS III utes. 1 built in Oct 98 & 1 built in Nov 98. The Oct 98 still has the VS II type motor.

Dr Terry.
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
