Ok just looking at the VK EFI TRI and the WB TRI as you know shifter locations are oppisite sides of each trimatic, BUT there is a decent depth hole where each respective shifter is on each gearbox. So the question being can the shifter shaft from the WB be transfer to the commodore box as the WB is a column auto? If so how much work is involved and is it worth the effort? Or just be done with it and bung a T-Bar in?

The reason for asking is I prefer it to stay on the column as the van is a three seater and knowing my kids if one of them was to sit in the middle it would get knocked!

You can do it. But the hole you need to drill for the selector shaft has to be spot on. Pull the pan off the WB box and have a look inside and you'll see what is needed.

Or isnt there another option?
What about modifying the shifter off the (I think) HZ Statesman with the column shift, it runs under the front of the gearbox so that the shift on the commodore side (as in T350) can be used and retain the column shift.

I gave thought to this but have never seen one and dont know how involed it would be to do this. Is there any extra mounting points involed from the existing ones?

It seems that the linkages fron a stato is not suitable for a trimatic, set up for turbo boxes are different. Was advised to take it to a tranny place and have it drilled not to do it my self. So cost effective........ T-Bar.
