As i have only just recently purchased a VX Berlina i'm now looking at starting the process of doing up my car.

I'm not going to bother with the looks for the moment... I can live with the stock exterior!

First thing i'll start with is the Exhaust system. Any idea's? I saw a nice clip on Youtube where somebody with a 3.8L put a Redback exhaust system with Pacemaker extractors made it sound really nice. Not sure how much extra power it gave him though. I think he just likes the sound, I don't blame him though!
If you know how much extra power i'd get out of the upgrade i'd love to know!?

You can follow the link to it if you like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6V3s_wGFys

Like i said, i only just bought the car so I'm feeling pretty broke, being only 21. I'm only looking at spending $1,000 on both. The fella on youtube said he spent about $950 on his exhaust/extractors.

I would ask my older brothers about this but it will eventually get back to my old man and he will, more than likely, talk me out of the upgrade.

Any suggestions?

A tri-y type extractor will give more torque which is better for the street, after that it just depends how noisy you want it to be, bigger is louder but not always more powerful.

You on

How much would a tri-y cost?

I got quoted on a Redback cat back system for the wife's Commodore. It is going to be cheaper than a stock system from Lange's auto centre in QBN.

Agree. I knocked back a few CV8's and Cross8's for a few thousang $ cheaper than the ones I ended up buying, principally because the exhausts had been changed from standard. None of those I looked at had kept the original exhaust systems.
