Hi, I am trying to install the rubbers for the windows and have noticed the new inner rubbers from rare spares have no steel inerts as the originals do and when I wind the windows down or up the rubber is gripping on the glass and rolling. What am I doing wrong or is there a trick to it?

Hi Jimmy I know your problem if its the outer door belt rubber on the doors ? as i believe the RSP replacement is a piece of right angled rubber with no steel backing like the original. The correct new part with the steel insert moulded into the rubber is

I had the same problem but it is the inner rubber , so i bought some stainless stripes from a fabricators shop and held them in place with these . Not original i no but my car wasnt and looked great with the windows down when i showed the car as its very

Sorry bout that!! its a 68 HK Monaro and its the inner rubbers.I am thinking of using the steel from the old ones and painting them as you have done with the stainless, Dave. However one would expect a rubber kit to be the same as the old one. And another
