The cam in my 347 stroker is fairly lumpy and does not suit a normal brake booster due to low vaccuum. I don't particularly want to install a cannister as the engine bay is already looking cluttered. I have read about hydroboost brake systems which use the power steering pump for boosting pedal pressure rather than conventional vaccuum boosters. Does anyone know about these? Are they legal in Australia and do any of the locally built cars use them?

I've looked into the one made by Hydratech in the US. The overall length of the booster and MC is 14". The space between the firewall and the shock tower in a XA-XC is only 12". I'm now looking into some of the electric boosters.
