Hi Fellas,
Do anti-pollution requirements apply to 202 motor QL178916?
I read on Byron's web site that QL motors came in HQ to late HZ and LX high compression. Would I have to fit anti-pollution gear to fit this motor in an LC?
I always say 'Hi Fellas'. Are there many (or any) ladies regularly accessing Fastlane?
David

Look at the date cast code to see if the ADRs apply, for example LH Toranas (HL prefix), HQs and HJs dont have ADR 27A which are emission controls.
An engine no that low will be from a HQ.

James is correct, its a HQ engine, so no pollution requirements for an LC.

Hi David,
If you are in NSW, the anti-pol laws relate to two things. The engine and the date of the vehicle. A QL as such is prob safe to have no anti-poll. But what car is it going into ?
Check wih your local RTA.

Thanks for advice fellas. Always appreciated.
I want to fit the motor to a 71 LC GTR.
Im always looking for a 173S so I can get it back to original one day. I think there were not that many LC with 173S and because they were not very special motors

Hi David, good luck finding a motor only 647 LC GTRs had the 173S, out of the LC GTR run of 6570. I reckon your best bet would be to join up with the closest GTR/XU1 club and try through their network.
