OK maybe a silly question for some,but a question just the same.any help will do,here goes.will a 186 head go on a 161,also if so what will be the compression.

Hi manikmechanik.

It's not a silly question, that's exactly how GM-H created the 161 low compression engine.

If you fit a 186 head to a 161, it will drop the compression ratio from 9.2 down to 7.8.
