WOW....I went to the Toowoomba swap meet yesterday and thought I had walked into a giant Ebay storage area.

2 HK GTS 140mph gauge clusters at $500 ea with rusty faces.
HG 140mph GTS dash...broken fascia...$350
HG 140mph GTS dash...Temp gauge needle broken...$500
HX GTS dash..speedo siezed..tacho buggered...no clock...fascia in poor condition...$170
HG GTS bonnet...dented but minor rust...$1000
HG GTS guards...dented and rusted out bottoms...$1200
HZ GTS dash...nice condition...$800
HQ standard 200kph speedo...$100 ...nearly choked with laughter on that one
HQ Statesman complete front end...fair to good condition..$1800
HQ front guards non GTS...$80 ea
HQ front and rear bumpers...need re-chroming but straight...$250 to $350

There was the occasional good buy....
XU1 complete dash...$200
HG GTS guards rust free with a few dents...$500pr
HJ GTS guards minor rust...$180pr
HJ complete GTS dash with good black pad and console...$300
HG 140mph GTS dash...$160
HQ black console...$40

I even picked up a HJ GTS speedo and tacho for $10ea but on a whole the prices for average stuff was quite expensive. There were also a lot less stalls and very few complete cars for sale compared to previous years.

One guy had a heap of HQ guards and bonnets laid out with a sign up..make an offer all must go... I asked his price on a rusty and badly dented pair of GTS guards...wouldn't give me a price..I hate sellers that do that but offered him $100 for the pair. He laughed and said he would rather send them to the crusher than sell them for that. Another TOOL....I said that's probably all they are good for anyway and walked off.

Its true to a point, the good thing is though some sellers still do not know the value of what they have or rarity, last swap I went to in jan I got a HQ GTS trim ring in 8/10 cond for $1.00 it was mixed in with some after market ones. also a very good HD

I have only been to one swap meet, and did fairly well compared to the Ebay / Trademe pricing.

Sparkly new Holley 600 - $300
Set of 5 HX honeycombs (including all 5 centre caps and one tyre on the spare) $100
Set recliner mechanism for HJ sedan $20

the problem is people don't understand that ebay is a bigger market than you could ever get to see at a swap meet, a good sized swap may get 2k to 2500k people through the gates, ebay gets that in 2-3 hours.
but ebay is just as bad for the stupid prices,

I used to have a site every year at Queanbeyan swap meet & come out a few hundred richer. Trouble is they dropped the site size down to 6m X 6m so by the time your car and box trailer are parked and un hooked 3/4 of your site is filled up. The last time I

Well I still think the 1600km round trip to Ballarat swap meet is worth the effort but that could be because we usually install a hangover or two at night.
