Do these engine have hydraulic tappets? Got a tapping noise that sounds like a tappet is loose. Just tried full synthetic oil in it to see if that will settle it down.
Any answers on this would be appreciated.

Its a problem that showed up about 90000 km in the local auto shop BA ute, I believe they just used thicker oil. Not a lot of help I know. I've got a Ba 220kw, and its just turned over 100000 without it appearing, I get it seviced by the local ford dealer

These engines use a 5w30 grade oil so it is fairly thin. This engine has 160 000 on it so far.
