Rather than have the "no v8's, etc" rule, how about a "one-make" licence vehicle. There is an Indian car mob have just put out some ridiculous little machine for about $1000. Zero power, zero street cred, sod all cost.

this weekend i went on a full race day at Barbagello race way in VK commodores, i learnt more in the 8hrs i was there than the 50+ hrs i spent getting my L's.
