Hi All,

I'm getting a new exhaust from the extractors back on my 253 ute and was wondering if its best to go straight into a single system and then have a single muffler inline, or have one muffler on each side and then go into a single? Also what pipe size would be best to use with a single system - both before it goes into 1 and after.

Is there any power/economy/noise benefits with 1 versus the other?

thanks
Rhys

in my experience with a std 253 the stright in to single with a straight throught muffler 2 1/4 is the best. but with a 308 i swear by twin 2 1/4 all the way.

Yep agree with rosenberg around 2 inch single system as a twin system on a 253 sounds like crap! know cause i had one i put a stock 308 in with same system and sounded sweet.

2 1/4 single into a straight thru lukey muffler and 2.5 out in the same style (location) as the original exhaust.

You might also need a balance pipe between the pipes just after the extractors. Depends upon the engine. If it's too loud this will help.
