m trying to get the crank out of my 202. have got everything out accept for the timing case does the harmonic balancer come off in 2 parts ive used a gear puller to get it off but i cant get it behind the small part? how do i do this is there a knack? I'm stuck and its annoying the hell out of me koz its the only thing left on the block... please help.

The balancer should come off as one piece, you might have ripped the outer off and now you will need to get the inner off, and a new balancer when you reassemble.
You should use a balancer puller not a gear puller to remive them, this is why it has hap

Some H/B have accessory rings ie for power steer. Remove the front ring if u do. Usually 4 bolts.
I assume you have removed the BIG bolt and washer on the H/B ?
If you have, put the bolt back on about half way. Like any H/B i use an adjustable pulle

warren i think i have separated the inner from the outer on the harmonic balancer...
thanks for the advice... now that i have broken the old one is there some sort of fancier one that i can buy that will work better?

there are 3 holes in the pulley, you make up a puller with a piece of about 9mm (3/6) plate, drill a hole in the centre and 3 holes around it matching the 3 in the puller, get 3 bolts that fit the 3 holes in the pulley and then get a larger bolt with a nu
