Hi guys, need some help. A family friend has a 77 XC Fairmont Coupe. He bought this baby brand new and has an original 65000kms. When he bought it he tells me that it was a limited edition? and at the time he paid a little more then the equivalent of a GT or Cobra (cant remember). He reakons he was offered over $100k a while ago but not sure if he's pulling my chain...Anyway long story short he's interested in selling and wants to know the value of it..is there any XC that can command such a price? I do know the car and it is pretty much immaculate..blue with cream roof..sunroof, electrics etc.
Any help would be appreciated....Have some pics if that helps...
Thanks!

Sounds to me like t

Thanks mate, yes it is 5.8 and definately fully loaded. Is what he is saying correct? Could it have been that with all the options from purchase new price it could have been more expensive then a cobra?

I'm not old enough to remember prices back then but think of it like this. The Cobra was a gimmick at the time to get rid of coupe shells that nobody wanted. If only we had a time machine :( More than likely the fairmont did cost a lot more brand new

Here's what seems to be a three owner, 250000klm unit, fully loaded (a/c, p/s, s/r, e/w, 5.8lt matching numbers, auto) 1977 XC Fairmont Coupe currently for Sale, around $40k+.
