hI i am trying to put a 307 chev into my HK prem
which was originally a 186.

i have a set of pacemakers to suit , but am just running into disaster.

the left side of the car (while sitting inside) fit very snug.
but the other side is chaos cant seem to fit round the steering box, also i think that my new CVR hi torque starter will not fit with the headers.

if anyone can help in the slightest , anything will be apprecaited

thank you

I had no problems with starter motors, originally I had the standard starter but heat was a major problem, I installed a high torque starter, not sure of the brand, bought it second hand and had no problems, plenty of clearence.
Sorry I cant help.

I had lots of issues with my hi-torque fitting in around things (383 chev stroker, 400 flexplate), in the end I had to strip the starter apart, swing the solenoid around to the sump, redrill the main mounting plate of the starter so it would hold together

I had the same problem with my Premier. 307, Pacemakers, Hi-torque starter = lots of problems. The meshing was the bigest problem I also moved the starter around on the mounting. Cheers.

My HG Prem had a few clearance issues with the off the shelf pacemakers. Firstly I had to move the handbrake wheel back about an inch (welded it back on). Then I had to take the grinder to the starter motor mounting block to clear the pipes. I'm pretty

I use the CVR "Maxium" mini starter for Chevs in tight places like HK-HG with extractors. They are ever smaller than the usual mini starter with more grunt as well (3.1hp). You can spin the starter around on the mounting flange and they weigh even less...
