do 235/308 extracors fit VN and up style heads? also apart from apart from the early pre pollution 253/308 heads, is there much diferance between red/blue/black pollution type V8 heads? do they all use the same inlet and head gaskets? and what were the best pollution style heads to use apart from HDT or HSV. Someone told me the blue and black heads used differant inlet manifold gasket so i wanna confirm this with you guys. cheers dan |

Pre VN heads have different port layout to the VN, VN inlet and outlet ports are evenly spaced, to put VN heads on early blocks you need a VN inlet, exhaust and cam. There are 2 basic heads types for the early heads, non EGR (red) and EGR (blue and black |
You only have to be in front at the end of the race. |

the reason they used the bananas wasnt to block airflow, it was because the bananas produce great torque down low. Having said that, im going to go with a Torque power single plane on the Injected 355 im building. just gotta pick up the block, and im in

im dropping the turbo 202 project, and im going straight to stroker holden V8, im using VN heads (maybe yella terra -9s down the track) and a single plane torque power or harrop manifold (apparantly torque power makes more torque, but harrop makes more ou

Don't take this as gospel, but Holden built HK-HG for a SBC, and a 400 Chev is a small block, so a stroked 350 (377) shouldn't be a problem. I know a 400 is a torquier engine than a 350 but HK-HG are very strong in the subframe, so I don't imagine you'd h |

yep, 383 definitely. you can build a 400+ 383 CHEV for less than 5grand.
I'm only going holden because it's a bitch to put into a commodore.
I didn't get THAT far into the turbo 6 project. I bought the turbo, injected motor, and a few other bits. i

you could always cut down a borg warner housing from a commodore and get the axles shortened and resplined. would cost maybe $700 all up.

A VL diff is actually narrower than a HK-HG. And a 377-380 cube small block with close to 500ft-lb or torque would probably bust those just as quick as a Chev 10-bolt. My mates HK used to destroy 9" centres at first too, until he put a minispool in. Never |
