With sticky tyres trying to run a sub 12 quarter, a VL Borg Warner would in my opinion last exactly a few seconds. Especially in a manual. You might get away with it with a turbo car, or even a short stroke V8 but forget it with a almost 400 cube carbied

dunno, maybe, well have to see, im using the VK borg Warner housing with a 4 pinion 28 spline center in the back of mine. i do know of commodores that are running well into the low 11s high tens with 355 V8s running these diffs though.

Remember that those are lighter cars than a HK, probably narrower tyres and autos with a high stall converter. The HK quoted used to smash a brand new LSD 9" within minutes, mainly the clutch packs and planetary gears, but never actually broke crownwheel,

wow, i've never heard of the borgy breaking in the commodores. that's crazy.

off topic, but have you heard of the trick with toploaders that involves machining every second tooth out of the gears to get faster gear changes? apparantly it's an old trick

No, but try talking to DJ yourself. I reckon my mates HK was borderline in having a manual for serious driving. Much more than 400 carbied hp starts to get too much, and scary. Unless you just want a cruiser like im planning with the HK. Youll quickly get

Yes i may take you up on that 9 inch in a few months if you have it still i dont have much cash to splash at the moment plus im doing the tonner at the same time so i have to budget for these parts . I can get my hands on a fully reconed 68 camaro 12 bolt
