changed engine. It has its own carb dizzy coil, inlet manifold, Only things from other engine.

Fuel pump, leads, coil wire,The car itself,Battery, fuel in tank, the hose that goes from the lower part of carb to the top of rockercover.
The hose that goes to brake booster. maybe a few more things.

We had the dizzy out when we tried it in his car with orginal 4.1 normal dizzy.

When it came home it was farting round and black smoke out back.
After changing carb. Fuel filter.Spark plugs. now engine.with electronic dizzy. Now all we get is a very small fire sounds like its trying to run on 1 cylinder.

I hooked a wire from battery to postive on coil. In case its not getting 12v while starting but no diff.
I changed battery no diff.
I put a rag over top of carb to lean out mixture no diff.
I pored petrol down carb no diff.
I disconnected fuel line to allow any excess fuel to diapear while cranking no diff.

I checked plugs I can smell petrol but there not wet.
I smelt fuel pipe while cranking and can smell unburned fuel but not excessive.

New plugs are NGK BP4FS

Fuel in the in line filter which is after the pump slowly goes backdown to about quarter fill.

New engine is suppose to be good runner.
I tried to block off the hose that goes to the brake booster
no luck.

This is for the boy but it would help us both.
SORRY TO BE A PAIN
I would appreciate any or all help.

Have you tried two different rotor buttons and distributor caps?
It sounds as if one of either could have a crack.

You also seem to have a lot of vacuum trees without hoses on them. These must be blocked off or have the correct hoses fitted otherwise you have lots of vacuum leaks.

Yes on the back of the inlet manifold the Docktor may be right about a hole that y

Docktor yep the dizzy has been out. Im sure I had it write as far as it was pointing to the number 1 plug when the piston was on the compression stroke on TDC.

A ford guy came look at it, I wasnt there and he said I had it 180 out. And there is a mark

If you have it 180° out then you just have to swap the leads at the distributor cap 1-6 2-5 and 3-4 and you are away.

i can tell u right now 20 inch wheels will not pass a rwc/in any state of oz and the car wont last a week on the road as the cops will pick on it and with spacer plates means the wheels are the wrong offset (au/ba most likely ) and i cant see 285s fitting

you could buy these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/X...TS_W0QQitemZ150225059775

And then find a wrecked EA-or EB and fit the 3.9/4.0 engine to make the XC go better and use less fuel.

Sounds like the timing or firing order is way out! as far as I know the firing order should be 153624(That's the most common straight 6 firing order), to check that you are on the compression stroke you need to get someone to turn the engine over (clockwi
