Hi guys,
Thought it might be time to put a bigger carby on my 253, preety much stock apart from elec. ignition and extractors/twin 2.25" exhaust. It runs dual fuel, nearly always gas but petrol comes in handy when gas runs low (i live in the sticks).
As for the bigger carb, i was leaning toward a quadrajet but after some reading am now thinking of a 350 holley or maybe 500 holley. Would the 500 be overkill for my engine, or would there be significant difference in power over the 350? Im not too worried about economy as gas is cheap as chips.
thanks in advance,
Nathan

350 and 500 holleys are crap carbs, they give **** economy, and do not atomise fuel well enough. definitely go with the quaddie.
although, can i ask why you need to go with a bigger carb? electronic ignition, and good exhaust, does not exactly have huge

thanks bundy, boom. Id love to stick a 308 in there but im a uni student and finances dont favour me until im finished my degree, this is also the reason i havent upgraded the internals. I was expecting a reasonable difference in power adding a holley, pl
