Hi Guys.

It's the first model Holden's birthday today. The 48-215 (FX) was released 59 years ago today on 29/11/48.

But do you classify the 48-215 as Holdens first or the FJ as Holdens First? Even though the 48-215 came out of Holdens factory the yanks had a lot to do with it. But none the less it a good enough excuse for me to have a couple of Bundy's to night :-)

I think you will find the FJ was also US influence, infact most Hldens were. I know the HD was designed in the US as I was talking to a fellow about the front scoops on the fenders and got the complete run down about how they were on and off over a couple

Hi Guys.

Yes, Warren is correct, virtually all the early Holdens were either US designed or they had a serious influence on the outcome.

Im not sure, but I think one of the early styling bosses, Alf Payze was an Aussie. But even when they designed

I once read that the HD was the first Holden styled completely outside of Australia.

Holden actually designed a replacement for the EH called the EF & it was a real ugly thing. The design was put in front of the Seppos and they hated it and presented
