Hi Guys, just got hold of a HJ sandman,the guy has owned it for 27 years but has had to sell it due to wife issues. it has the original number plates,motor & gear box. (both have been rebuilt) however hoping that someone may be able to confirm for me that it's original.
Date:11/75,BHJ42678A,GVW:1950,SEATING 2, 8M7ORFL329114J,HJWM70,BODY:173710-A,TRIM:1888-19V,PAINT:568-15951, ENG:L32,TRANS:M20,R/AXLE GU4, TYRE PLACARD:BF9941015.
Is someone able to tell me what the trim code stands for ie:colour.
On the license papers it has belmont panel van, but has all the sandman options ie: full roof headlining (in gray though) gts dash,black seats, carpet & door trims full floor console(black), original gearstick knob.gts steering wheel, courtesy lights, the rims have been changed out to mags.Any news would be greatly received,thanks.

defently a sandman mate. interior is slate black. has correct tyre placard. (unique to the xx7 hj sandman 76 model only)

I cant be 100% certain, but id be surprised if it wasnt an XX7 Sandman. Its not a Belmont either. That name dissapeared off commercial vehicles at the end of HQ. Thanks guys, I was fairly sure of it being a sandman, however it is always good to hear it from someone else who is well in the knowledge of this area.Cheers.

basicaly there is nothing at all proving it not to be a sandman...
btw i love white sandmans! =) if it was a hz id be trying to steal it hahaha.

Agree. Unfortunately there are some Sandmans that defy 100% confirmation, and this is one.

Cheffy, what colour is the dash fascia? Is it a silver one or plain black? Any chance of some pics?
