Hi all, does anyone know if any of the ID tags were painted on a 1974 HQ GTS/4 ? In a current restoration and ready for paint and i heard that the passenger tag was painted same colour of the car.
Has anyone any info ?

I have a 8/74 Torana and the Body Plate is the same as the engine bay, Black. The other 2 plates are not painted.

the body id tag of melbourne built cars was painted the exterior body colour..... not sure about cars from other plants

my 9/71 melb built monaro has a black body plate not body colour another melb hq has body colour on it.I have a 71 hq bris tag w/body coloured paint and 3 out of 4 sydney HZ's have body coloured paint, none of my adel tags have any paint (across all model |

I own 2 HQ GTS4's both from the same production line in melbourne, both the same colour, they were built 2-3 weeks apart, the earlier one had the body plate painted to match the car the later didn't, so I'm not totally sure all had the same treatment, I d |
