Does anyone know what model or year Holden introduced metric fasteners to vehicles? I am not talking speedo but nuts and bolts.

Hi Matt.
The first Holden with any quantity of metric fasteners was the Gemini (1975). Although before that, the Opel 1900 motor in the LH Torana (1974) was metric, but the rest of the car was imperial. The first large Holden with plenty of metric used |

OK thanks Terry....so there should be no metric fasteners on a HZ or even a WB?

Hi Matt.
By the time HZ & WB were around you will find a few metric bits. For example the radio and related bits were now Japanese, so they were metric. The seat belt bolts were metric for all Holdens from about late-76 onwards. WB had a few more metri |

Terry.......yes thanks you have answered it. I was curious to know how a HQ-HZ general fasteners kit or master rebuild kit could be correct for all models HQ-HZ as I was sure I had seen metric fasteners on a HZ(probably seat belt now you mention it). Obvi

i am nearly finished rebuilding a WB ute and have found a mix of both metric and imperial bolts have been used (eg the door hinges are imperial, the front panels are metric) Its a bit of a pain but what can you do!

Ive found the same as bundy. I used to wreck heaps of WBs and found a mixture of imperial and metric body bolts. Even some with metric threads and imperial heads (1/2"AF). The set screws with phillips heads that hold the inner guard to the guards were als |
