hey
i was wondering if anyone knows how many 1300cc and 1600cc auto capri's were built in 1969?

All Australian built 1969 model Capri's were either 1600 deluxe or 1600 GT. 1970-1972 models were either 1600 deluxe, 1600 XL or 3000GT.
So no 1300's at all in OZ. A lot of 1600 Capri's were auto and easily identified by the tunnel.

525 auto 1600 capri made in 1969.
over 12000 1600 all up.
1693 1600 manual in 1969.
2459 v6 manual all up.
555 auto v6 all up, in australia.

im looking at buying a 1969 1300 auto capri which has been sitting in a shed for the past 17 years untouched. why are there so many 1300's around if they didnt make them here surely they wouldnt have imported them all here if they were making the better 1

I think south africa was the only place with with a V8 302 windsor sold new. called perana 500 made,281 HP. top speed 143 MPH. 0.60MPH IN 6.1 SEC.
as for the 1300 4 cyl, i know of a chronic liar that use to waffel on all about them. i did not listen to

Yep the UK got 1300cc Capri's but we did not in Australia. Looking at the engine the only real difference between a 1300 and a 1600 is an inch or so deck height. Are you sure you are looking at a 1300 or a 1600?
