Who’s down for a protest on the cost of fuel

I am sick of the cost of fuel, bloody government taxes the living day lights out of it. Then has the hide to point the figure at the oil companies.

I bet if we all got together in each city, got the TV stations on board like today tonight etc.
Then drove to a central location like the truckies did in the 70s we might, just might see some change.

Or is there no hope.

someone should start up a website, all the ideas above are good, and all should be done. protests, petitions, refusing to buy for a week do it all, try anything, because it is beyond a joke now.

sorry guys, but petrol is inelastic, and until it goes up to $3.00 people are going to continue buying it.

If it goes to $3.50 people will still buy it.

Just consider that its still cheaper than a bottle of water in the same service station. It has a LONG WAY to go up yet before people will stop buying it.

The first thing the govt should do is drop the GST
which is a tax on a tax, this would drop price by 12 cents or more.
Then start pushing our own natural gas as fuel...they run buses on it in Melbourne.

Ive often wondered what would happen if we all banded together and stopped the following for a month:

Drinking;
Smoking;
Gambling; and
Driving (which would also stop traffic offence revenue).

The politicians would start sweating and screaming blu

Well the first thing that you should do is simple.

Unless you have an fuel voucher for a few cents per litre off don't go the the fuel stations that accept these vouchers because without them your fuel is no cheaper so it costs you nothing to take you

I'll just qualify my last statement - those of us who drink, smoke, gamble AND pay traffic fines are helping to lower the taxes of those who only do SOME (or none) of those things!

Or they could just use all the profit made from speeding and drink driving to lower the cost of fuel, or atleast cut the cost of taxi fares!
