Paging Dr Terry or anyone else who knows more than I do. I have just aquired a HJ GTS/4 with an aparent factory sunroof (manual slide out thingy, not the clear tilt up). Was this option available on the HJ and if so how rare were they?

They were optional in HJ only. I've only ever seen 2 and both were in HQ's.

I remember a new HJ Kingswood, 4.2 4 speed, with factory slide back sunroof, similar to the Ford Falcon of that era, which was written off about 2 months after it was bought. Sold new by the Holden Dealer in Maffra, Victoria

my hq gts has a tilt up sunroof, how can you tell if it is is factory

the factory one isnt a tilt up one. its a metal panel that slides back into the roof. its hand operated, and can only be fully open or closed.
i wish my GTS had one. i just keep my eyes out.. ;)
