Hey there,
Does anyone know the paint code for the internal light greyish colour that is found on the inside of the sandmans?
And can anyone shed light on whether the headlight surrounds on the HJ sandman came out standard (ie. all silver)or painted black with the metal edge strip left only? Most pictures I can find show black however there is the odd one that shows them unpainted. My van is currently being restored and I want to keep the body as original as possible. The van was basically in original condition when I got it and the headlight surrounds on it were not painted. What to do!!?
Also can anyone recommend a good place to get door skirts, exterior handles etc re-chromed in the Bayswater, Croydon, Ringwood region of Vic?

Hello Mandy, Byron may be able to help on this one. I am restoring a HQ Sandman and what we did was remove the side panels in the back and the original color was inside there as they were painted with panels off. Then we just color matched. Try that

HJ sandman. what is the tyre placard part number in your glovebox? and what eng and build year are on your plates? =)
I collect placard data, and for eveyone saying that i do not tell people REPRODUCE TYRE PLACARDS and other decals.

Thanks for the tip on matching the colour, thats what I might have to do. As for the tyre placard the car is at the panel beaters at the moment. i was looking at HJs bits the other day. i have seen pics with the blacked out head light surrounds and some without and pics with black GTS mirrors and some with just normal mirrors. its getting hard to find some stuff out

Same with the door window frames, mine were painted black, most pics show it the colour of the car but a few show it black. It is hard to find out info, don't think there is a standard'original'. Seems there were so many options.

Byron was 95% sure it was. Everything about it says that it is and nothing says it isn't. And the fact it had original paint and part of the original decals on it I am pretty sure it is.
