I have this piece of rear Monaro glass, one of my mates spotted it in the shed and he thought it was from an white HT Monaro dragster from the 70s.
Can anyone shed some light on what this car was and who drove/owned it.

Thanks

John Sawka for SA used to run a white monaro back in the 70s and early 80s, but I think it used to run A/S. I remember it had the record for a while.

Race number 317 is John Taverna.

The car was called The Grot.

After the Monaro John had a Torana hatchback which became Ian McCurdy's. After that he had a Commodore which became Rob Tuckers, then to two Camira's before building and driving Peter Kap

Sevens with a KB in AA Gas seems incredibly slow, considering Geoff Coombes was running nines (record setter) in B/MS around that time. (naturally aspirated 307 (283) HG Monaro, Turbo400, stock body and interior)

I should have said retired from the quarter. He is still turning out works of art from his head shop. He also donated a NOS XU1 head to the Brock Torana replica fairly recently.
