Guys,
I am trying to figure out the jargon in the National Code of Practice website to determine what is legal for the ol HQ ute in relation to rim/tyre selection. What I need to know is can I run 15x7 rims all round with a combination of 225 front 235 rear, both 60 series tyres and still be legal or do they all have to be the same width tyres in WA.
I understand the other points of the legislation i.e. Max allowed tyre width can only be 1.3 times the original tyre fitted.(so for an original of 195/75/14 I can go up to 245 from memory) Tyre diameter can only be +26 or -15mm max from original,(hence the 60 series tyres I propose). Tyres must not protrude or rub when in the straight ahead position. Aspect ratio can only differ by 10.
I cant seem to get a straight answer from anyone here and dont want to fork out lots of cash only to find its illegal. I habe already purchased a set of 15 x 7 Cragars to suit.
Any help on this would be aprreciated.

Thanks Trev...

I am sure they all need to be same width in WA unless this has changed in the last few years

I think that the tyres have to be the same size unless the originals were different. my old mazda b1800 had 12" on the rear and 13" on the front.
however a lot of street rods have large wheels on the rear, but they may be subject to different rules.

johnperth,
Shes not a one tonner so I dont have to worry about that. I may just go for the 235/60/15 all round. Is anyone running 235s on the front that can tell me if they stick out of the front gaurds at all. the rims are 0 offset.

As I understand it, you cannot alter the track of a vehicle in WA, so wider wheels must still maintain the same track, (distance between the centre of the tyres). If a vehicle originally had the same size tyres front and rear, then the front to rear size
