i was fully heckled at a dinner party last saturday night from these nerds who were into BMW / Audi / Ricers etc...

And they couldn't understand any good qualities about a HQ.

all i could come up with was:

1) when ur are getting kicked out of the pub at 1 am, and u have lost your keys, your holden mates can unlock and start your car for you and get you home.

2) they can tow horse floats.
- we all know horse riding chicks have the best arses. HELLO!

3) All coil ride , like a couch on wheels.

4) CHeap and easy to fix.

5) Safe in an accident, although thats debatable, no air bag etc.

6) WIth your mates in the back, the HQ sedan has more traction to blow away a ricer on a saturday nite.
lets face it, thats when it counts, when your mates are in the back.

Please help with any other ideas, i will be seeing them again soon, unfortunately.

1) The tail lights in the bumper make for a tough looking rear end, especially in a lowered one with nice wide rubber!! :)
2) They run the same wheel stud PCD as a BMW!!
3) Most of us can afford a HQ....well at least a Kingy, maybe not a GTS 2 door!!
202 and three on the tree, can't get more Aussie than that!!

Adam, you can tell them from me that my car when new was about $3800.00 now worth about $45,000.00

their beemer was about $60,000.00 new worth about $20,000

thats fairly positive....

mate, that HR is sensational.
should be in a museum, i dare say i cannot afford it.

I have a bit of money to splash around at the moment, looking to buy something 7/10 or better.model not important.
HR prem, sandman, 6 cyl HKTG monaro or something.

1. You can negotiate spoon drains and speed humps without leaving bits of your car behind
2. It doesnt need an exhaust the size of a drain to sound good
3. How many ppl give you the thumbs up driving a ricer or euro another finger maybe old holdens are

Take them back to 1971 when the hq was new and compare with the equivelent run of the mill beemer and Audi and then laugh at the local jap cars of 71 without their turbo`s, The Audi FOX had a vw passat engine .
Modern motor mag of FEB 1978 (HZ) had a BM

Good things about a HQ..

1/ Easy wreckers, sort of like a big meccano set
2/ Were everywhere for a long time, we used to get them for nuffin
3/ Dudes will always buy the bits off them
4/ GTS bits quick when ya part them out to build chassis cars for

(1) can some home on 7 cylinders

Why would you even bother trying to explain yourself to the tossers ? Try BBQing with real people (wholl likely drive real cars and hold a decent conversation to boot) instead of brown nosing the braindead, shallow uppercrust fags...or you could just sell

When you crash at an intersection,it doesn't leave your front and rear bars all over the road.
When you have an accident in a Q you will have the column and the imprint of the dash on your forehead to prove it.
The old sealed beam headlamps don't blind

485,650 HQ`s were produced and sold ,and 2 of them are mine ;) .
A HQ is a Blokey car, a Beemer, audi are hair dressers cars, and ricers are best left overseas ,we have enough secondhand cars.
