HQ-WB are good cars, but design wise they do have some terrible flaws. Like the front doors with the hidden area forward of the front window runner that rusts out from new, and the damn rust prone plenum. Plus the awful ride and handling of a HQ-HX. Holde

I love me old Hq's cos thats when Sandmans came out.
I remember seeing a brand new yellow Sandman ute in the holden dealers and the guy that bought it traded a 327 blue bathurst HK monaro.
The 1st HQ I bought was in 79. A 4 door with a hot 350 in it. No

Don't worry about it. Just another anonymous poster that has no idea about the world. Obviously a V2 CV8, VZ Cross8 and a low mile '57 Chev aren't decent cars. And complete GTS327's and other HK GTS's are caved in rusty shells.

Going back to the old, old days of fastlane being 1 long continuous thread, nobody needed to log in to post.
It was devoid of most of the idiots who seem to find it amusing to post utter crap, and worse, racist, personal & colourful attacks on people.
Cheers,

Mick

Getting back to the question of what is good about an HQ try this for size.

I emigrated to Australia from Scotland in 1976. I had nearly no money when we arrived after the costs of relocating.

The HQ's value is going in the opposite direction to the value of any newish EBOS or ABOS.

About 10 years ago a mate of mine bought a 1977 BMW 633CSi for about 13K (it cost about $45K new ouch). He wanted to make is Ex jealous. His reasoning for not
