what is a hdt vl sport, v8 manual, 100,000 k's in good condition worth?

Hard to say, as there are lots of variables, but probably anywhere from $20-30K to most buyers, but you may get lucky & get more if it's a desireable colour or has certain desireable options (like a HDT fitted T5G for example).

it was originally a bt1, fitted up with hdt gear (kit, carby, crank, heads etc) in 1995 by hdt in WA, im looking at buying the car but cannot be sure if its genuine

Sorry, but these are not classed as a genuine HDT in the same vein as a Brock. In fact, it's just like you or I grabbing the bits & fitting them ourselves, to an 8 year old car, and stamping a plate. WA is more like a tuning shop for

As I noted briefly above, WA builds are not recognised as 'Brocks' and quite often don't follow the 'rules' as such - WA builds were somewhat dubious in their origins (just like the BT1), and the amount of work done before a HDT plate was fitted etc etc.

its an ex cop car, standard sl trim, made manual by bill lee. its a bit rough, wont be paying the asking price but its a lot cheaper than a real hdt
