Hi All I have read on forums and have had numerous discussions of late, that turbo power is apparently the way to go.I personally prefer a V8 any day,but have been told by ford owners that their turbo sixes have far more torque and power than a V8.Being a teenager in the 70,s I grew up with V8,s.I was also informed that turbo,s were the new V8. Anyone have another opinion? Cheers Rob.

Its cubic inches that really counts. You are comparing a 5.4L or so V8 with something with an effective cubic capacity of about 6L. A bit like the Ford V8 vs the Holden 6.0L. The effective cubic capacity of a well set up turbocharged engine is much higher |

nothing beats a v8 everyone loves and respects them, but as we see now alot of great power output from turbo motors. I built a turbo 186 holden up - but wish i did a v8. not much respect for the rice burner stlye turbo 6s.

Whilst the turbo jap engines can make some frightening horsepower, apply those principles to a well built v8 and leave em for dead all over again.
18 psi into a 3 litre is a fun streeter, 18 into 5.7 is an animal...

it's funny how such old technology makes people jump up and down when it sweeps through an untapped market.
vlc - that's quite an ignorant statement. I don't care to start a fight but there are many different sizes of turbos available, match the right |

Another factor in the pie is turbo sixes are lighter, which means better handling, which is why BMW use them (twin turbos) more and more nowdays.Turbo technology has improved vastly over the last ten years. I'd prefer a V8 because I like the sound and ru
