just spoke to a machanic of 30 years whose fitted many hqs with say vp disc rear end never had to change the stud pattern the hq wheels went straight on so long as you use tapered nuts so who is right the axles dont need modification ps just thought i would put that in the mix

They do fit, but not properly. Try it and see what you think when you break a stud at 110kM/h.

This will start another long one.....Tell your mechanic to get a good lawyer,the best insurance he can find and another stint at tafe.
The lawyer to keep him from going to jail for manslaughter,the insurance to possibly pay out the death of innocent peop

HQ's don't fit VP's they don't even come close, we had a VP
rear end in the HQ Belmont utility but had a VP to HQ disc
bake stub conversion kit fitted so to take the 15'' Commodore rims.
