All, The current issue has some very interesting Monaros in it. Two stand out though.

1. The Monaco Maroon HT GTS (pp.32).

2. The unusual blue South African HT GTS 350 (pp.109).

From all I have learned over many years, the Monaco car can't be a 308 Trimatic from factory as advertised. Then there is no mention of the blue 350 automatic being a South African car. With so much interest in these vehicles of late and the wealth of knowledge now available, surely the sellers would not try and pass off something it isn't.

A touchy subject perhaps, but I'm always keen to learn more about these "fascinating" vehicles.

JT, The car only has two ID plates and therefore is a 1969 (early) HT. There is also no Trimatic kick-down bracket/mounting on the firewall and the accelerator cross-shaft is to suit a 307. From all I have read and know from personal experience, no HT Mon

If the car is a two plate car, ie no compliance plate it is either a 307 or 308. Gearbox will not be trimatic in this car.

Only Trimatic have the cable kick down on the firewall, not powerglide, so you cannot tell if auto or manual from the accellerato
