Hello,

I have a 1976 Hx kingswood ute and ive had it sitting in the yard for a while after getting it for a free off a friend of a friend. Anyway, it doesn't have the original 202 instead it has a 186 out of a hk or whater its a 186p.

Anyway im wondering what paperwork I will need to get it registration with this motor or if there is anyway of finding out whether it has been stolen or not. I realise the laws might be different in other states but I hope I can get some help.

Also, will I need a mod plate if I change it from a bench seat to hx buckets?

thank you very much

Tyler

does it have any rego papers? if it was reg in your friends name he can get a copy of the existing papers for about $15-20.00 from the RTA.
Then you can see all recorded details on the car including engine number.

You may have trouble registering it in QLD with a 186. It may be easier and cheaper to find a 202 or 173, but I suppose it wont hurt to try. You probably would have to fit all HX pollution equipment including inlet/exhaust manifold, carby etc.
